The Original!

The Classic series encompasses flexible tin plated, multi-strand, oxygen-free 5N purity Copper! In addition to the corrosion resistance, the tin plating contributes also to a much wanted skin-effect reduction and prevents the electrons (i.e. the current) from disruptive ”jumps” between the strand surfaces, hence adding unwanted timing errors to the music signal. The insulation of a select grade chemically stable PVC further improving the sonically benign tin surface over time. The Classic cables are available also in a flame retardant and halogen free version; Classic/H FRHF.

The Classic series is according to todays measures good entry level cables and are available in dimensions suitable for a wide range of power transmission demands. Compared to any low cost hifi-kits included speaker cables, Supra Classic will give a clearly audible improvement.

Flat

Supra Flat 1.6 mm² - Super flat speaker cable

A super-thin, just 1.95 mm thickness, with tin plated and mangled 5N copper braid, which allows for virtually invisible wiring. The cable attaches to most surfaces by using Supra double sided self adhesive tape. The big advantage is in practice almost invisible installation, making e.g. rear speakers cables disappear in a lavish living room. It is possible to paint and to wall paper this cable.The sound will likely to be perceived close to Supra Classic, a warmer sound due to slightly elevated inductans compared to our pure Hifi cables. Thanks to its tin plating, skin-effekt is well controlled and inductans not overly evident.

Round/Twisted

Supra Rondo - A versatile, electrically sound speaker cable

The Supra Rondo cable allows for a number of possible connections, where the full range Quad Star, is a nearly ideal laid out suppressing the inductance to low levels. Thanks to its four leads it is possible also to connect as bi-wired or bi-amplified. Tests have shown that full range Star Quad, supplemented with a good jumper replacing the often really poor leads konnecting high and low range connectors on the speakers give the best conditions for a better transition of music. Further to the Star Quad lead configuration, the short pitch twinning of the leads, contributes to even lower inductance and lowered tendency to pick-up RFI from the surroundings. Yes, RFI is highly malignant also in the speaker circuit. Any means to lower RFI in your hifi or multimedia equipment will undoubtedly pay off with lower noise floor and a much crisper and sharper picture as well as a sound full of micro dynamics standing out from a pitch black background, with a completely new level of bass attack and dynamic compared to a standard cable. Supra Rondo is available on bobbin, blisterpacks and pre-terminated with Supra CombiCon contacts. Supra Ply Concept

 ’A Logical and scientific design’, not to mention ’it's hip to be square’

The square shaped design as a result of mangled braid cores, laid out closely to each other, reveals the potential of dynamics and transients of your Hi-Fi system. Further, it reduces interference and interaction distortion.

When mangling the braid to thin conductor layers, extruding a thin layer of insulation and then putting them together with the flat sides facing eachother, the capacitance will increase significantly. An in-depth analysis require some mathematics exercise, so we leave the physical theory here and simply state that two conductors with different polarity laid out with a large mangled side area facing each other, will feel their individual charge, thus acting as a capacitor. If we just stopped there, we would not gain anything, but the real finesse it that the capacitance will raise at the expense of inductance! And, the capacitance is sonically less significant in the speaker circuitry. Further Supra Ply offers the tin plated strands that reduce the disruptive electron jumps between lead strands resulting in a signal time shift, a very unwanted distortion when the original holographic 3D sound stage is desired.

Once again, Supra Cables design a "simple" yet ingenious cable that because of its physical properties counteracts malignant sonical behaviour, is cost efficient to produce, thus affordable to the customer and allowing for a better sonical experience. Still. Because this is a quite old design. What we have done recently, presented in a separate section, is an evolution of this concept with an even wider conductor, mangled in a twop-step process, facing each other resulting in a further elevated capacitance, hence even lower inductance (Supra Ply Wide).

Supra Ply is available in a number of configurations, conductor areas, w/o screen, on bobbin or pre-terminated lengths, all with the basic sonic concept and some extra features added. The shielded version, with the drain wire connected to the negativ lead is also a way to further increase capacitance, improve sonics, but also protect both adjacent equipment from harmful fields and radiations as well as the human aspect, e.g. EHS - electro hyper sensitivity.

The Difference that makes the Difference - for You
Unlike many of todays audio cables, the Ply benefits are proven by repeated measurements and tests nearly all over the world.

The figures 1 and 2 shows our Ply and a generic cable with a wide space between the conductors, a quite common "high-end" design today. We fed both cables with the most challanging signal there is, square wave, representing very high frequencies. Every drum beat, piano fingering, classical music, acoustic jazz, etc, is full of ultra fast transients, best represented by the square wave. The result speaks for itself. While Ply only show a minor loss, the generic cable dampens the highs up to 20 kHz by a staggering 10 dB! It is a major treble roll-off, clearly audible and will undoubtedly drive the listener to compensate using the tone controls and by doing so further deteriorate sound quality by adding tone control phase shift.

Before purchasing any cable, visit your local Supra dealer and discuss your level of equipment, borrow a couple of speaker cables sets to make a good listening comparison. Anyone searching for that particular live feeling, when music displays the typical dynamic drive, 3D soundstage, clean crisp highs and clean dynamic bass, in fact almost feeling like the beat is imaginary slightly faster, will probably end up with a set of Supra Cables. Supra Quadrax

Loudspeaker Cable with Emphasis

Really affordable High-End Loudspeaker Cable featuring Tube Conductors of 4 x 2.0 mm² at such a price it is nothin less than a bargain.

The tube conductor design means that 120 individually tin plated strands in a braid forms a tube around a PP plastic core. It forces the music signal to meet the same crossection area irrespective of frequency. The higher frequency, the further out in the conductor perimeter the law of physics forces the signal, hence resulting in unequal conductivity properties for the various frequencies. If adressed in the cable design with tube formed leads we manage the differencies efficiently allowing for a flat frequency response, ultra-fast transients and transparency. If configured in a Star Quad conductor formation (single wire/full range) RFI pickup and outgoing magnetic fields (lowered induktance) are almost completely cancelled out, thanks to the symmetry of current in the opposite conductor pairs. Finally the strand tin plating will counteract any current jumps tendencies between the strands thus creating a diode effect followed by corresponding phase shift.

In addition to the malignant inductance affecting any power transmissions with high current transients, we have also gained a lowered capacitance. The capacitance is considered less malignant in speaker circuitry, but if possible it should also kept as low as possible since it also contributes to a treble roll-off and phase shift. The special PolyPropylene (PP) insulation and conductor core is chemically and physically extremely stable and features low capacitance.

What will you experience? We think that you will have a dynamic explosion, especially if you own a powerful amplifier and larger pair of speakers. The vast majority who tested this cable, sum up its properties as very dynamic and expressions like "this is really rock'n'roll" is not unusual. And this is off course both flattering and awaited, since we designed it to be an alternative high-end cable, for those how wanted a more straight forward sounding, but still remain faithfull to the very fabric of Supra Cables no-nonsense concept.

SUPRA Sword

Simply High-End by any measures

How is it possible, that this cable, out-performing so many other cables, is so affordable? This is a quite usual and relevant question for us to answer. Maybe we were plain stupid not to charge more at the launch? The answer is that we are Swedes and we have a different posture to design and prizing. Before we went ahead with the Sword, we thought, “gosh, how fun wouldn’t it be, if we could offer a peak performance hifi component, affordable to almost all hifi enthusiasts?"

And, we did it! In spite of the affordable price, we are proud to say that the Sword is one of the best speaker cables there is. Maybe someone might think, “yeah right, everything else displays the usual price vs. performance ratio, so why should this be the exception?". Well, if you take a bunch of electrical engineers, Swedish, who happens to be hifi nerds as well and you ask them to design a cable made of commercially available sonically benign materials, physically laid out to counteracting the malignant electrical behavior and finally ban any mystery boxes, batteries or cryogenic treatment of 9N Copper, you end up with the Sword. And what is more of a problem to our competitors, it does not need to cost a fortune.

Completely transparent, perhaps a worn-out cliché, is still what most users and tests agree on. The secret? The bifilar-wound litz conductors comprising 24 individually insulated strands per pole, 12 wound in one direction, the remaining 12 in the opposite, resulting in magnetic field cancellation and very low inductance. Further, the litz wound and individually insulated strands cancels the dynamic skin-effect. The Sword behaves as a non-inductive and in-phase cable through the entire audible frequency spectra. The only thing not cancelled is the sound, allowing you to hear every little note of the music, at full dynamics.

So, finally, we apologize for the low price and hope you might consider to give it a good try anyway? Those how have, usually ended up buying.

Supra XL Annorum

Supra XL Annorum is a speaker cable we are proud to announce as one of our 40^TH Anniversary offer. The name derives from playing with latin numbers and language where XL means -10+50=40 and Annorum is a bent form of Anno, latin for year, hence 40 Years. We take great pleasure in the fact that this cable is developed together with a renowned Swedish speaker designer famous for e.g. QLN speakers among others. The intention was a conductor lead for the internal wiring of drivers and cross-over filter. During the progress we acknowledged such good performance that the idea of having the conductors forming a complete speaker cable came to life.

The design is a 4 x 1.6 mm² square shaped lead configuration, where each lead comprises a plastic core around which 12 strands 5N oxygen-free copper are spun in a tight pitch. This minimizes skin-effect and inductance efficiently and by choosing the sonically benign PP as di-electric (insulation) the sonical stability by preventing corrosion and material fatigue, will remain at highest possible level year after year.

The specification and performance fits right in between our Supra Quadrax and Sword edition.

It is available mounted with Supra CombiCon connectors in Star Quad, single-wire (2 ►2) fullrange configuration, single 

bi-wire (2 ►4), bi-amp (4 ►4) and on bobbin B75. This also means that in addition to our standard lengths, we offer custom lengths upon order.

A series of entry level loudspeaker cables

JenTech Sky is an oxygen free 5N Copper loudspeaker cable. It is laid out as an classic 8 crossection loudspeaker cable construction built up with bare Ø 0.127 mm Copper strands, except for below SkyFlex which is round and twisted. Available from 0.75 mm² up to 6.0 mm². Standard colours are white, black and transparant. We recommend this speaker cable only for indoor use in dry and heated surroundings.

Supra CombiCon Series - A versatile, robust series of contacts

The Supra CombiCon allows for changing contacts from BFA/banana to Fork in a blink of an eye. And back again for that matter, providing for exceptional freedom and flexibility for any new demand. Electrically, the Supra CombiCon matches any of our cables and the design specification was clear-cut, it must not be a bottleneck for our Supra Sword speaker cable. Supra Sub-woofer cables - short description about sub-woofer cable do's and don'ts

First av all, let us point out one really important fact that just have to be considered when creating a speaker/sub-woofer system. In almost all countries in the world, the power output sockets in the wall either put out 50 or 60 Hz power. And, in most sub-woofer/satellite speaker system the frequency cross-over between sub and speaker is close to these power frequencies.

The result, if not addressed, will undoubtedly be crosstalk between power lines, speaker cables and signal to sub-woofer, which will make any attempt to create that seemless interaction between speakers and sub-woofer impossible.

Now, with this said, the interconnect cable choice for the sub-woofer is critical. But that is not all, the system should not be subject to any magnetic fields caused by above currents that may induce 50, 60 Hz or other low frequency high current signal into sub-woofer interconnect even if very well shielded. So take proper actions to minimize cross-talk by means of routing the cables far as possible from each other and for the really consious hifi enthusiast, choose Supra shielded mains cables that radiate a minimum of power system noise nor pick the noise up.
